Rediculously overpriced

For 8kg wool that cost me R2500; I received a transport invoice through DHL of the amount of nearly R6000. Through the sells company in Germany I was indicated that the costs of DHL won't be higher than R1200.
How on earth am I going to sell wool for R8500 that only is worth R2500.
This was for sure the first and last time that I have used service of DHL. I was always waiting to be quoted upfront for the transport; which never happened. If I would have know before hand that they charge so much then I would have organised a way cheaper solution.
I feel fooled and I am disgusted.
