Audi South Africa
AUDI Q5 2.0 TDi CLUTCH NOT COVERED UNDER MOTORPLAN

Cars & Transport

I was driving on 07-07-2013 along the R509 on a straight stretch of road with hardly any traffic. My vehicle, an Audi Q5 2.0 TDi (Manual) was purchased in March 2011 and had done only 38, 000km so far. The gears displaying on the dashboard started flickering between gears 4, 5 and 6. I tried changing the gears, but I couldn't and the clutch seemed not to be working. I pulled off, stopped the car and re-started it to try and see if the gears would work. The car would start, but I could not engage any gears. I called Audi Assist, who arranged in getting a Tow truck to the spot, althougth after 3 hours. It was towed to Audi Rustenburg. On 09-07-2013, they called and said that the clutch kit will have to replaced at a cost of about ZAR28, 000 and that it was not covered under motor plan. I asked the reason, and they said it could be due to driving style. I have been driving only Manual cars for 24 years, and completed more than 100, 000km each on my 2 previous cars, one of which was an Audi A4 2.0. How does my style change? I complained to Audi SA who after 8 days and several calls say they can't help. Zahira would never call back. Motor Plan useless at 38000km only? Please help!!
