Volkswagen
SOLD VEHICLE TO ME WITH AN ILLEGAL WARRANTY

Cars & Transport

In 2009, I bought a VW CITI GOLF, on behalve of my late daughter and late son-in-law, from VW / AUDI at their the Glenn branch. We got very bad service from them, from day one and most of the minor faults were never properly fixed.
Our vehicle was even damaged in the workshop for one of these repair sessions, when one of the mechanics ws driving the vehicle without permission. The workshop manager admitted this and they paid for the damages caused.
Our main complaint is that this vehicle was sold to us with a false warranty and that this sale was illegal. The vehicle had an engine breakdown in May 2011 and we immediately contacted the dealership, who referred us to a VW Accredited workshop in Centurion, Pretoria.
When the warranty insurance assessor inspected the vehicle, he discovered that the engine number in the vehicle did not respond with the number on the warranty. Stannic told me to stop paying my monthly installments untill this mess is sorted out.
On Monday the 8th of July 2013, I received a statement from the bank for an outstanding amount of R88, 000.00 and it was suggested to me that the dealership is prepared to pay half and I must pay the other half.
