Scare tactic and for R3k

Car came back from service with an oil leak, the dealership assessed the leak and said it was due to the viscosity of the oil that caused the seal to break and hence the oil leak. All very well its under warranty, they will fix, however, they called back to say I need to change my clutch as well because I reported a noise when reversing, this totally fabricated and burns my a... After challenging them they said they were just being pro-active, but will cost me R3k for a new clutch. I feel it should be a manufacturere recall.
I am damed if I do and same if I don't, I hope when one of them go for an op for something else they not told they need to have a heart transplant, just being proactive!
The car by the way is 3 years old and went in for 45k service.
