Verbal agreement not adhered to, creating dispute

A handshake sealed the agreement that my car's engine would be overhauled within four days and that the entire job would cost 7000 Rand.
14 days later the job is not yet done and the business owner is requesting that I pay separately for the re-sizing of the -rods.
The mechanic continually says 'tomorrow' and the situation is not resolved. He works on other cars whilst mine stands in the furthest part of the service unit.
He knows that I have cancer and am physically impaired but I need to walk where I go.
I am disgruntled about him trying to increase the agreed job price.
