I hired a car from First Car Rental on 23 April and got it collected from my panel beating supplier as per my agreement with First Car on 9 May. As usual, I got the car on a full tank and had my R650.00 funds held until I returned it with the tank full.

I filled the tank up about two times, while using the car, but the day before I returned it the gage wouldn't show that it was full, even though it was. Since I had filled it in in Soweto, I planned to fill it in again on the following morning before I returned it as I travel from South to North. I must have filled the car in about 100 meters from the pick-up point for around R47.00, showed both pick-up drivers my two slips from the previous day and from a few minutes up the road, explained what happened, and told that it must be a petrol gage problem which they would fix, and that they wouldn't bill me anything, but a few weeks later I got only R608 from the R650 that I had paid. I complained about this and was told that the problem would be fixed but I am still not happy. R41.00 may be a small amount, but I need it more than First Cars does, especially when it isn't due to them. Please refund my money.
