On Tuesday I got a proforma invoice from DHL that I must pay R366 in taxes to have a parcel delivered. This parcel is a sweatshirt that was sent to me from a friend in Paris as a gift. I have e-mailed DHL's customer care/enquiries e-mail 3 times to query this payment, but I am not receiving any reply. Last night I also e-mailed a few other DHL e-mails that I could find, still nothing. My friend's parents received a similar package and they did not have to pay a cent. R366 is almost more than the product is worth, how can they be charging me this amount? I also have a bunch of questions about the documents attached to the e-mail where it tells me to fill in my importer number... I really would love some more information about what this is and why I need it to receive a gift. PLEASE DHL, give me some proper service. It is so frustrating not to hear anything as this is of course a time sensitive matter as items are only kept for 7 days. 5440719782
