Nissan South Africa
Very unhappy Navara owne

Cars & Transport

I was very excited when the 3.0 V6 Diesel Navara hit South African shores, I had spent many hours doing my homework on this vehicle. Finally I bought a double cab that was over a 1/2 a million Rand. I had owned a 2007 2.5 4x4 Navara before and I promised myself never again to own a Nissan Navara. Well I wish I listened to myself, at about 30 000kms on my new 1/2 million rand vehicle I started to have problems with the power. The dashboard would have all warning lights flashing and I would have no engine power. It took them over two weeks to sort the problem out, now at 88 000km I'm having the same problem but without the flashing lights. Nissan Pinetown has told me there is a fault with the EGR Value and I'm liable for the charge to fix it, labour alone is close to R10 000. They telling me that this is caused by carbon build up from the diesel that I'm putting into the vehicle; I only put in the best diesel into my V6. Why would Nissan bring a vehicle into South Africa if it can't cope with the fuel South Africa has to offer? I would understand if the vehicle was out of warranty, but it's not out of warranty. I can strongly recommended not to waste your money on a Nissan Navara.
