Volkswagen
Damaged car - blown turbo

Cars & Transport

Last Saturday (1 June 2013), i was at VW Bruma to trade in my Seat Ibiza Cupra TDI.
I was with a buddy of mine (on cc), Alex Ingram, who also had his car evaluated. The salesman the "assessor", named Sonnyboy at this dealership test drove our cars. Sonnyboy the salesman (Morena i think) were in the front with Alex at the back. Upon their return from the assessment drive, Alex complained that they drive it as it they drive to break it. I checked my car (Seat) and noted to both of the VW employees that my car cold and that the temperature has not reached 90? C as yet on the gauge (still flat at 50? C). I also told them that i never drive my car hard and rev almost never rev beyond 3000rpm because that is just my driving style. I gave them my car keys to do their assessment and off they went. My car was in good working condition as i have driven it for the past 2.5 years without any issues. When they returned with my car after their drive, the car was smoking white and was later that day diagnosed by their workshop as a "blown turbo". This was evident by the oil leaking out the exhaust. The dealer principle has communicated to me on email its not their fault so not going to sort it out
