Cars & Transport

Shame on Hyundai, Airport! The fuel gauge on my well looked after Tuscan 2006, Turbo Diesel with under 140 thousand km in the clock was behaving erratically. I asked Danie, the Workshop manager, to take it for a test drive and in conversation mentioned that right now, with having just left my job the last I could afford was high fuel consumption. He was friendly and helpful throughout my dealings with him and I told him that ifthere was a major problem I should perhaps look at getting a car that is lighter on fuel. Well no surprises, when the car was handed back to me after a day of observation in their workshop, I was told that the Turbo needed replacement at a mere R24091.83 but that this was not necessarily bad news as they would be contacting me with a very good special on their brand new I20. I am female and what do I know about cars anyway. That's true but, an ex-colleague of mine, contacted me with the good news that Alpine Turbo in Honeydew could assist me with an the same make of turbo, fitted, for just over R11000.00. Alpine Turbo informed me that there was nothing wrong with the Turbo. It was a minor problem and more about that in the smiles section.
