Incompetence with basic automotive mechanics

AIM Automotive serviced my 1974 Ford Escort one month ago. When I went to pick up the car that evening it was backfiring badly, AFTER being serviced. AIM Automotive said that it is only backfiring slightly meanwhile it was so bad that I could not even drive up a slight driveway incline. Since then my car was with them for just short of 3 weeks while they were searching for parts (distributor cap). In the end I just picked up the car and paid them while the misfiring was still happening. Again I almost did not make it out the garage due to such bad misfire. I subsequently took it to another mechanic who sourced the parts and fixed the misfire within one day at a very decent price. I was suitably impressed and requested him to attend to other long outstanding matters as well.
