Volkswagen
Crazy GPS Map Updates Price and No Follow up

Cars & Transport

I have approached Hatfield VW (Not at fault!) in Bryanston in October 2012 to get a quote to update the maps for my 2010 Passat TDI, They provided me with a quote for R8, 500.00 just to get the new maps for SOuth Africa.

Now I have no idea when was the last time that VW had actually look at a handheld GPS pricelist as you can now get a device that runs circles around their outdated solution, with lifetime map upgrade for just over R2, 000.

This for starters is absolute daylight, especially considering that VW is not actually compiling the maps themselves!

I have then communicated these same sentiments to the VW contact center, who then came back after a while and apologized and nearly restored my faith in the brand again. The lady that took control of the issue then committed to get back to me, and did so after a few weeks to let me know they will be providing me with the map updates for free, as they will forward the software to Buks at Hatfield VW in Pretoria.

Now that was back in December 2012 already, and as yet I have not heard a word from either Buks at Hatfield VW in Pretoria, or the VW Contact Center as a follow up or to provide me with an update.

Poor VW Show!!
