A1 assist towing
Unneccessary service

Earlier today my son was knocked off his motor bike by a very concerned lady. As is so often the case the towing service arrived before the ambulance, The tow-truck driver, Francois authoritatively informed the driver of the vehicle and my son the the correct procedure was to take the motor cycle to Dial Direct where it would be seen by an assessor who would then make an arrangement for repairs with an approved Honda dealer. The driver of the other vehicle, more concerned about my son's injuries, accepted the advice of the A1 Assist representative and took my son to Medicross for treatment of his injuries. This afternoon we were informed that the motor bike is being held at the yard of A1 Assist and as Dial Direct does not assess motorcycles and that I must fetchthe bike from A1 Assist, pay R2952.26 for towing and storage for them to release it and take it for quotes myself. I do not own a motor bike trailer and A1 Assist increases their storage costs daily.By monday I will owe in the region of R6800. Had I not been misinformed by Francois I could have had it towed directly to Honda from the scene of the accident and saved thousands of Rands.
