False Reservations

I phoned them on Friday (8 march 2013) around 10am in the morning to make a booking for Friday (8 March 2013) evening, as they are usually busy. Firstly the person that answered the call did not really seem interested but took the booking for 3 adults & he took my name down. He did not ask for the time of arrival (to ensure the table is reserved appropriately). He then just dropped the phone like that. When I got there Friday evening around 7:30pm, it was busy as usual; I was told my name was not on the booking list! They then asked me who i spoke to. My mistake was not taking down the name of the person (though he dropped the phone so quickly!).

I then remembered an incident that happened previously. I went there with a friend (who made a booking, but was told that her name was not on the list). It then occurred to me that this is something they are used to doing. They give away reserved tables when they get busy & use the excuse "you did not take down the name of the person you spoke to", now u have to go to the back of the queue & wait for a table. Don't take bookings if you are NOT going to reserve tables!! Very dissapointed. I had to drive out & find another resturant! :(
