Birthday dinner ruined - bad service and attitude

I decided to celebrate my husband's birthday at Meat Co Monte Casino. I phoned that morning to make a reservation. I spoke to a very polite and helpful man (I didn't get his name), who promised to give me a good corner table upstairs. My husband works late, so I made the booking for 8pm. My husband had friends over at his work and we made it to the restaurant at 8:25pm. The maitre d', very rudely, told me "sorry, we give away our tables after 15min, we will put you on our waiting list". I understand this needs to be done, especially on a busy night. However, this was handled very unprofessionally by the maitre d'. Firstly, she was extremely rude and impolite with no regard to good customer service; secondly she was unapologetic for giving away our table. How do you not phone before giving away someone's table?!? The gentlemen took my number when I made the reservation! We were not that late anyway. It was an 8pm booking, so why would you want to rush a table-what time were you expecting the next client??? What the maitre d' could of done, was given us preference for the next open table-instead she put us on the waiting list. Thanks for spoiling my husbands bday meat co!
