Mantovani's
2 horrible meals

My dad and son are regulars at Mantovani's in Eastgate. Went with them for a dinner a few weeks back. Dry, tasteless steak, bland veggies and hard chips. I was not impressed. For dessert, one of our party was served a rotten creme brulee. Although the manager did apologise we were charged for the replacement dessert which I thought was poor customer service. So my dad and son convince me to come and give the restaurant another try on Sat night. I order the beef schnitzel with veg and chips. Yuk!! The schnitzel was fatty and tasted weird, veggies had a strange salty taste especially the spinach and the chips were inedible again. Ordered ice cream and chocolate sauce for dessert. Another disappointment. The choc sauce was in such small quantity that one had to search for it plus it was completely bland. Never, ever again and I think that goes for my dad and son too. My son's pizza had a strange watery consistency that looked like it could give you a bout of food poisining if you had the courage to finish it. No use complaining to the waiters. They are like zombies. Seem like they are half-dead lounging about holding up the walls. No management in sight on Sat.
