MUG & BEAN WATERFRONT SPOILS NEW YEARS EVE DINNER

On New Years's Eve, 31 December 2013, we arrived at the entrance to the Mug and Bean at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town at 19h00. We were a total of 11 people. The staff member who assisted us promised to arrange a table for our group. After standing and waiting for 30 minutes, we were shown to a table that could accommodate only 6 people. We took additional chairs that were standing around, and we sat waiting for the additional tables to be arranged. At 20h15 a waiter came to take our orders. He informed us that the kitchen would close at 20h30 and he would therefore take orders for drinks and food at the same time. While he was taking our orders, we decided to take unoccupied tables that were close by and use them to increase the size of our own table. After taking our orders, the waiter left, but he returned a minute later to tell us that the kitchen was unfortunately closed and they could not assist us. I complained to a manager who then agreed to assist, and our order was prepared. Incorrect drinks were served to 2 of our members, and were only corrected after another talk with the manager. Our new Year's outing was spoilt by a brand that we trusted.
