Problematic payment with credit card

I telephoned (011) 476 8706 to place an order for 2 grilled hake at around 15h30 to be collected as take away on my way home yesterday, 17 Oct 2013. When I arrived to collect the food, my credit card recorded "exceeded" so I was unable to pay for the fish. I however asked the manager if I could take the fish & I would pay on the my way home today, 18 Oct 2013, to which his response was no, as the owner was not in the outlet. Whilst I am aware that this is a cash business, credit cards can pose problems in most inopportune times but surely if one has a REGULAR customer one can make exceptions. Let me tell you this - I am in the process of having to pay for my daughter's wedding which is on 2 Nov 2013 and I drove through to Pretoria 3 wks ago to look for a dress for myself. We ended up in a shop we had never been to before EVER and I saw a dress that was suitable but as it was a Sat & I was only being paid on the Monday the store agreed to give me the dress in good faith (obviously taking down all my details, plus copy of my ID book) and I in turn agreed to pay them on the Monday which I DID. The price of the dress was R1 408, not just two little pieces of hake!
