Poorly managed competition

There was a competition drawing at Spur in Vanderbijlpark on the 8th of Oct 2013 for a Webber Braaier and accessories. While waiting patiently for the draw to start at 19:00 and nothing happened, we carried on with our dinner. The next moment we heard an applause and the draw was done. I've expected a professional way of announcing the winner, it was poorly done and no one in the smoking section heard anything. The best of it all is that we asked three waiters about how the draw was done; they replied that they had no knowledge of a draw. According to the sms I've received the draw was to be at 19:00 and it only took place at 19:35, and if according to the sms if you don't attend you will forfeit the draw, but on arrival they asked my surname and made no note of it, so how was I entered into the draw and how did they make any note of my attendance. How do we know that our names in the smoking section wasn't called first, and could not claim the prize, because we didn't know when the draw took place. We spoke to the manager of Spur at Vaal Mall that was recruited by the owner of spur in town and we laid a complaint but he took no interest to discuss it with the owne
