Beluga - Mass Produced Food at Fine Dining Prices

My husband and I dined at Beluga Durban restaurant for the first time on Friday, 23 August. And what a disappointment! The veg starter was colourless lettuce with small pieces of beetroot and feta cheese. My starter of calamari was oil drenched plated terrible & looked like an order at a fast food fish outlet. The mains were mass produced- A so called "deconstructed Thai curry" with pieces of veg floating in a thin broth. The meat was fatty shoulder of lamb. Shocking Mass Produced food at fine dining prices.

What a horrible experience and five hundred rands later, we could have gone to a fast food restaurant and had good food at a third of the price.

The only redeeming aspect was the attentive service by our waitress Taffy. However, all she could do when we complained about the food was say sorry!

My husband sent an email to Beluga after we dined there on Friday. To date, no one has had the courtesy of responding to his email or give him a courtesy call.
