Poor service ruined a potentially great experience

Firstly, I am a big Nobu fan. My boyfriend was a chef at Nobu in LA & I was pleased to have similar quality of food in South Africa. The food was incredible!! However a couple mix ups ruined the experience.

After a few courses we realized the waiter had ordered us the "chefs special" when we had very specifically ordered the "winter special", which was half the price. We notified the waiter as soon as we realized his error, but instead of charging us for just the winter he charged one winter, and one chefs. Resulting in a significantly higher bill. Ultimately we paid for the waiters error- which is wrong. This made us extremely uncomfortable.

When we paid, I used my credit card and he then told me very loudly my card didn't go through. This a very rude & unprofessional thing to say. Insinuating someones card has been declined is humiliating and unnecessary. He had no proof it didn't go through! And asked me to pay again!! Absolutely insane. My friend did pay again and my card did not actually go through as I learnt from my statement but it was Nobu's machines fault and not my cards.

We both left feeling upset, and felt degraded. This is NOT a Nobu experience. So disappointed.
