Lack of efficiency in the drive thru

On Tuesday evening I went to McDonald's with my 9month old and my 3 year old in the car. It's already 8pm and we need a quick dinner thru the drive thru. We waited in a long que for a 25min which when having two tired kids in the car feels to me like much longer than that. When we finally get to the window they tell us that cards only get accepted inside since the drive thru card machines are down!! I stay calm go inside with baby and son and order pay and try carry and control kids food pins etc. naturally I would have driven off when I knew they where down, but couldn't let my boy down since all he wanted was a happy meal. Just upset about the inconvenience, they really could have told me when I was at the end of the drive thru.
