Appalling Service

I just had the most terrible restaurant experience of my life at Maxi's on the N1. I seated myself at a dirty, wobbly table. The waitress (Mamsi) wiped the table with a serviette (not a cloth) and didn't have the courtesy/training to welcome me properly. She had an intense body odour, and it very nearly spoiled my appetite. Being the kindly gentleman that I am, I didn't up and leave, or ask her to go and take a bath before she came back to serve me. I ordered coffee, which was served in a mug which still had the previous patron's lipstick around it. When I complained about this to the waitress serving me, I saw the manager looking at me. He, alas, didn't value my patronage enough to come and apologize to me, or to exert his authority and sort out the level of service I was receiving. The eggs and toast was cold when it got to me (I ordered a farmhouse breakfast) and the cutlery was sticky. I ordered an extra slice of toast, and after 15 minutes asked another waiter to please just check if it was ready as my breakfast - this being winter and all - was nearing its previous frozen state again. As Nelson Madela once said: "Never, never, never and NEVER again!!! "
