Homeloan

Business & Finance

I bought my house 5 years ago and registered the bond in both me and my husbands name. We got divorced last year and we agreed that I should have the house since I paid the bond every month. I had to apply for a new bond at ABSA as they couldn't just change the names on the bond. I applied in January 2013. After 3 weeks of no response from them, I went in to see the clerk that helped me. She lost all the 'paper work' and never submitted my application. She couldn't even find the hard copies. I had to resubmit all the docs. After 2 months my loan was regected due to validation, this after no assessor came to evaluate. The figures given by the bank was totally wrong and they admitted that there has been a mistake at the home loans department, for the value of the house did not correlate with the original assessment figures. After more than 3 months, I cannot get an answer out of ABSA. They don't respond to any enquiries. I was told that I would have an answer within 5 working days, but it has been 3 months now. I paid my existing bond every month, my salary has improved significantly over the past 4 years and I have been a loyal customer since the bank came into existance.
