I recently received a notification for my home insurance increase, upon studying it outsurance has increased my cover by 8% and my premium by 50%!!!
I called to query this and was told it was because I had claimed more than once in a 1 year period. These claims were for hail damage (not under my control) and burst geyser (outsurance replaced it about 6 years previously)

I have never received a discounted rate for years I did not claim in.
I also have outsurance covering my 3 vehicles and have not claimed on them and it is no surprise that although the value of the vehicles is being reduced my premium is not, nor is it taken into account that we are not claiming on the vehicles and deserve a reduced rate.

I asked for a manager to look at my account and was promised that it would take up to 2 days to return my call but so far I am waiting 5 days.

I am not sure why outsurance thinks that it is ok to treat their customers in this manner, perhaps they are so busy "bending over backwards" that when I did claim for the hail damage I had to get the house fixed myself as they were just too booked up to do it for me as they should!
