First For Women Insurance
Why have I bothered paying a premium?

Business & Finance

I have been with first for women for nearly three years, and I have never claimed nor missed a premium payment.

Now that I am trying to claim for my insurance, different people have told me to produce different documents in order for Firstforwomen to payout. In particular, the insurance company wants proof of my previous insurance from 2008 (one man told me he wanted from 2004). I am a foreigner, and I was living in Thailand, this request is nearly difficult to fulfill and will most likely lead to the insurance company not paying out.

When I explained the situation to a representative, he told me that the phone conversation forms part of the contract and that anything said is part of it. I did say that I have had previous insurance. They clearly knew I was a foreigner. Why was it not explained to me that in the case of an accident, I would need to prove previous insurance from a foreign country?

I have tried to obtain the information requested, and I cannot. Essentially, I have paid my premium for 3 years for nothing. The company should have either explained what would happen in the event of a claim, or should have not given me a 'discounted' premium, which I didn't ask for!
