Misinformed customer forced to pay double

Today i visited the above mentioned store to query an insurance claim that i put through 2 weeks ago after my cell phone, a Blackberry 9320 was. At the store i phoned the insurance company only to find out that my claim has been processed but for my previous phone a Blackberry 8520. When i did the upgrade from the 8520 to 9320 a couple of months ago i paid a difference of R640.00, today i am told by the insurance company that the store was supposed to inform me that my premium was to be increased when i did the upgrade and to activate that increase which no one did and the manager at the store said to me that the insurance company was supposed to activate the increase in premium, because no one informed me, i was still paying the insurance for the 8520 which is what they want to pay me for now and in order for me to get the phone i had, the Blackberry 9320, i once AGAIN have to pay R640.00 which makes absolutely no sense to me, it was the duty of the store to inform me that i need to increase my premium which they did NOT and because of their incompetence i have to now cough up R640.00 AGAIN!!!
