Unable to provide contract detailing credit limit

I have been contacted by African Bank re. a credit card which is behind on payments.

They inform me that the credit limit on the card is set at R9500 - my last recollection of credit card, the credit limit requested & signed for was R5000.

When requesting of African Bank Call Centre to send a copy of the contract which they have on their system to allow me to confirm the credit limit approved, they
a) refuse to send same
b) try to shift the discussion elsewhere to how I need to commit to making payment.

The more I try to get information from them i.e. when/where this contract was signed, the more they obfuscate which leads me to believe that they do not have said contract & are trying to circumvent the law.

Given recent press on African Bank, these possibly illegal activities do not surprise me in the least - they are probably trained to take advantage of consumers who don't know better & who don't know their rights.

A simple request for information which they should have electronically on their system & they are unable/unwilling to provide same.
