I telephonically opened a FNB cheque account around the 7th of April. I also opened a Credit Card account and a linked petro card to my cheque account.

I was sent the cards by courier and told that I had to ensure that I had RICA documentation ready when the cards were delivered which I did.

Yesterday I wanted to make a deposit into my cheque account in order to activate it and was told that I needed to submit my RICA documents before that can be done? I find it unacceptable that everything was in place from my side and I am now forced to sit and wait for a consultant in a branch to do something that should have been completed already.

I was also told when I opened the account that my debit orders will be moved automatically, I just need to fill in a form which I have not yet received. I was also told that I could consolidate ky current credit card into my FNB credit card, and this has also not yet happened.

I feel that the hype around FNB might actually only be that; hype with promises but no delivery on the promises.

If I knew that this is the level of service to expect, I might not have changed banks.
