I updated my policy to "non smoker" but the premium was still higher than the competitors'. Finally I sent an cancellation email on the 9th of April. I received an auto response that someone will contact me within 2 business days.
On the third business day, I phone them again. Got put through to the cancellations department and spoke to Phikolwethu, naturally he tried to get me to stay. He said that if I had an increase in salary, better education or stopped smoking my premium could go down. That's where I lost it; they did not update my policy from my call earlier this week (that I'm a non smoker).
and... The premium the last agent gave me - for now being a non smoker was apparently wrong, based on 2013 premiums and not when my policy started.
Now... no matter what Phikolwethu said to me next - it would not have changed my mind. Because getting different information from different people in the same company is just unacceptable.
So thank you Phikolwethu for the good service and for trying to help me. But I'm just not happy with the experience I had this week.
