My salary was paid into the wrong account. Since I am with FNB I went to check with them and they informed me that luckily the account the money was paid into does NOT exist. The money should have bounced back into my boss account (A Standard Bank Account). Since my boss and I were not aware at that time that the account doesn't exist he ordered a recall. Standard bank charged him R250 to investigate and said this could take up to 21 days-if the person who received the money refused to give it back, the money is lost. Since the money was never paid into ANY FNB account I wonder what they are in fact investigating. I called them. I explained to Kathy that I am not @ SB. Please refer to recording-she interrupted me before I was done explaining the situation, was downright rude/unsympathetic. I am single mother of 2, have a few sources of income I depend on. The phone was then handed to Melissa who is nice, but could still not offer me any reasonable explanation why I have to wait for money that was NOT paid into an active account.By the time by boss ordered a recall the money should have been back in his account anyway.
