Unhelpful BAD Service as per Usual!!

A customer of Std Bank for over 20 years, I have recently decided to move to FNB.

Each time I deal with Std Bank my decision is validated yet again!

I was informed that I had to PHYSICALLY come in to a Std Bank in order to close my accounts.

FNB leaves Std Bank in the dust with regards to online banking!!

Upon arriving at Std Bank on a Saturday over a long weekend, the unhelpful receptionist, Jade Petersen, informed me the wait to see a consultant would be 25 mins. I told her this was ridiculous as she was aware of me already being an unhappy customer, there to close my accounts & her attitude was simply "I don't care - wait in line."

I asked if there were not simply forms which I can sign & was told "no".

The wait did not take 25 minutes & Yolisa Vava, receiving an extremely annoyed customer was fantastic!

She assisted me in closing 2 of my accounts & as soon as my 3rd is ready in terms of changing debit orders, tax, etc she said

I ONLY NEED TO SEND A SECURE MESSAGE VIA ONLINE BANKING!

I did not need to PHYSICALLY come in to the bank at all!!!

Well done Std Bank in reconfirming my decision to stay with FNB - even closing my accounts proved to be a mission!
