WATER DAMAGE AFTER PIPE BURST IN ROOF

Burst waterpipe on roof I March. Main bathroom, whole ceiling came down. Registered claim 4 March Absa Home Insurance. Pipe was fixed 5 March. Claim Ref 2346009. Assessor evaluated ceiling damage 8 March and his report went in the same day. Sofar nothing happened. Several calls to consultants in Johannesburg and Pretoria came to nothing. Unprofessional, unhelpfull and don't keep their word. Messages left, no response. Refer client from one to the other. One said still busy with the approval process. No feedback! One pays a lot of money for insurance and you get no service, help or correct information. My wife has cancer with a low immune system and the bathroom is not suitable and hygienic for use at this point and time. On my own costs I have now arranged for the ceiling to be replaced on 2 Apr 13. The claim must be cancelled - there is no interest wrt the client.
