Incorrect information by your consultant

In February of this year I went to the Sandton City FNB branch to close my account as I had opened a new account with FNB. I was advised by the consultant (Marriam Matsahng) that I had a transaction pending and could not close my account at that stage but once the transaction had gone through successfully I would be able to close my account. I also queries with her if all my Debit orders could be transferred to my new account and was advised this was possible.

The pending transaction has now gone through my account but now when I am trying to close my account I have been advised this is not possible as I have purchased an Ipad through FNB and am not allowed to close my account as the D/O for my Ipad has to go through my old account. I cannot understand why this is a problem as I would like to move the D/O for the Ipad to my new cheque account with FNB, I do not believe it is fair for me to now pay bank charges on 2 accounts when I was given incorrect information by your consultant. If I was given the correct information initially I would not have gone ahead with having the new account open.

Please can this be urgently addressed as this is not the kind of service I expect to
