Query Regarding deductions

I've got a query regarding my husbands Standard Bank Credit card. He cannot go into store to query it as he works all the time and is unable to take calls during work hours therefore it rests on me.
Every month I will pay money for example: R500 into his Credit Card, and every month its shows that SB has deducted a rough amount of say R300 from the amount, which I understand could be interest. But then he receives another sms saying that SB Visa has deducted R800 again from his Capitec Bank Account. Could someone please contact me and explain this to me? Its been the same deductions for a couple of months now... As we are both confused regarding what the total monthly amount payable is? Thanks in Adance
