Non payment of claim for vehicle written off!

On 16/1/13 I had an accident where my Neon Chrysler was hit while I was proceeding thru a traffic circle. A claim was lodged on 17/1/13. M&F sent their assessor to validate claim & advised vehicle was to be written off. We were offered Retail value less salvage on 23/1/13. To date no payment has been forthcoming with weekly excuses for technicalities regarding the registration and ownership of the vehicle which should not hinder the claim process. Fact - we bought the car, insured it thru M&F & paid for it in full by Nov 2012. Re-registration & ownership change couldn't take place during December shutdown. Accident occurred in Jan 2013 & vehicle was written off. At no stage at onset of our policy did M&F ever require info as whose name the car was in, if it was financed or if it was a code 3, which we weren't even aware of. But they are using all these "back pedaling" excuses every week why they cannot release the payout. Surely assessor could've picked up this info on license disc when he took pics & also they could've informed us from the onset of the claim what all their technicalities are?? No transparency from M&F at all, just shoddy, pathetic & disgusting service!!
