TAKING MONEY WITHOUT NOTIFICATION

Business & Finance

I was retrenched in 2008 when recession started. Only got employment again in 2011 and was so deep in debt at that point that we tried to pay necessities and put food on the table. Virginmoney (Absa) with whom I had a credit card and was unable to pay since 2008 then took money from my Absa savings account without notification. And they continued doing so for the past 12-18 months. Not small amounts - it ranged between R4 000, 00 to R7 000, 00 at a time. I again lost my job in December 2012 and certain monies was withheld by my employer, but was released to me on 1 March. Again now I am 3 months indebted to personal loans from friends and family in order to put food on the table. On that same day again Virginmoney took R4 000, 00 from the R8 000, 00 that was paid to me. If have my twins birthday this week and would really have liked to spoil them with a Spur supper and birthday presents, but thanks to Virginmoney I again have to explain to them that Absa "rules" over my money. I closed my account with Absa today and have made a personal promise that I will not even make use of their ATM's even if it is the only ATM with money in!
