Outsurance
Inadequate Settlement Offer on my Written Off Ca

Business & Finance

An Outsurance Client drove into my vehicle in November whilst I was enjoy a meal with some friends. Over the course of a couple weeks Outsurance contacted me to inform me that an assessor would be coming to assess my vehicle. On his inspection he valued the damage at R19 858.50 and valued the vehicle at R11 780.40. As such the vehicle was deemed as written off. On 15 January 2013 an Outsurance representative emailed me and provided me with a settlement of a mere R4080.73. I could not believe the pathetic amount they have offered me. Almost a third of what my vehicle is worth. This is pathetic.
I contacted the gentleman handling the case. He said that Outsurance's settlement stands and that I should seek further remunerations from salvage yard, of which I must sort out. I thought Outsurance was meant to be a moral company who are meant to be head and shoulders above the rest. Maybe for their clients but not for the third party claimants. I find Outsurnace to be despicable insurance company one in which I will not utilised based on their treatment of those other than their client.
