HOME-LOANS AND DEBIT ORDERS

Business & Finance

For the past month I have been sent from home-loans to branch level and back to home-loans. I wanted to stop my debit order as I prefer to do a direct EFT from my FNB account to my home-loan account. Simple reason, the funds in my flexibond clears immediately opposed to a 7 day waiting period if paid via debit order. When I spoke to home-loans about cancelling the debit order, they said it can only be done at branch level. Went to a branch and was told only home-loans can do it. Phoned my branch and they confirmed they can cancel the debit order, however at a cost of R70, 00. No options for me to cancel via internet banking at R10, 00. Called home-loans and was told SORRY WE DO NOT PERMIT DEBIT ORDERS TO BE STOPPED. So now FNB are you holding me hostage to your debit order system? I have to write a motivational letter why I want my debit order to be stopped. I am not an uneducated degenerate and will not be treated like a school child. What are you going to do if I close my account and not give you my new banking details. Repossess my property? I am so disgusted with FNB at the moment. It seems to be getting worse by the day and after 17 years I have had enough.
