I've been a Nedbank user since 2008. I've never had any major problems with them, but with the competitive banking market these days, all banks have tried to up their game by proving they are a better bank than the others. Nedbank has had an radio add stating that they will "warm you should there not be enough money in your account for your direct debits so that you may put money in to ensure that the direct debits go off so that you can maintain your good credit record." At the beginning of February, this was not the case for me. I received no warning that there wasn't enough money in my bank for a few of my direct debits. Instead, all 3 debits went off, and it cost me R90 each. Thus I was charged R270 for something I was supposed to be warned for beforehand. 2 days ago, R153 was also wrongly debited from my account for my credit card, which I closed nearly a month ago! Thus is utterly unproffesional and not good client serivce. Nedbank is also aware of the fact that I have been retrenched, but still they don't mind dibiting my account. I'm changing to the competition in next month and I would not advise anyone to bank with Nedbank.
