I have never been so disgusted in the service a bank provides like I am with Standard Bank. On 16 March 2013 I was in a bit of a life threatening situation that required me to have cash. After a lengthy walk, upon my arrival at the atm to withdraw cash, I discover that my account has been frozen. I then called the call centre to find out what is going on, I spoke to a consultant by the name of Katlego More who advised me that they froze my account because they don't have my proof of residence. I was then immediately alarmed because I provided this to the Ga-rankuwa Branch when opening my account. This now leads me to a number of concerns with this bank, either they are very negligent with customer documents or their staff is not FAIS fit. So I then ask Katlego, who was the person responsible for opening my account, he then tells me he can't see it on his system. This becomes a very concerning factor because if their systems cannot do simple user tracking, how would they be able to track any actions on client's accounts. I then spoke to his superior who said they would get back to me on Monday 18/02/2013... it is now Tuesday 19/02/2013, still no word. Where do I go?
