Lost my documents and contacts me 4 months later

After taking out a loan from African Bank I always had problems with my account being debited twice a month. If that wasn't enough I got retreched and I got calls from them on a daily bases to submitt all the info they needed to back up that I was retrenched, after getting eveything together I was told to take all my info into any branch and they will c to it that my debit orders will be stopped. That happened for the last four months until I got a call from the legal department telling me that because my account isn't being paid they will be taking legal action. To cut a long story short they never received any of my documents but why did they stop the debit orders on my account???
