I am a bookkeeper and I look after 9 companies. What I have noticed is that Standard Bank Card Division holds back what they consider 'large deposits' for anything up to 5 days!! This is ridiculous. Small companies need cash flow and Standard Bank simply don't care. They hold onto credit card deposits under the premise that 'they are checking' transactions before depositing the monies into their customer's accounts. How long do they need to check - especially in one instance where the one deposit holding up the transfer into my client's account was a Standard Bank customer!? Go figure. It simply boils down to a 'couldn't care less' attitude. My advice to the small guys... check out Capitec for credit card facilities.
