Paying for a vehicle that was settled

My vehicle had an accident early August 2013 and the insurance told me it was a write off and that I should request settlement letter from the bank. I asked the settlement letter from standard bank and the vehicle was settled on 14 August 2013 by the insurance.
To my surprise on the 1st Septemeber I saw an instalment deducted from my bank account and I thought maybe the insurance has not settled with the bank. I asked for proof of payment from my insurance and I forwarded it to standard bank. Ever since September I have been at least following up on the account but up to now, I am still paying for the vehicle that was settled in August. It has been at least 5 months now.
