When I first applied for my gold credit card, the payment option I chose to make my life easier was to put a debit order on my cheque account where standard bank would take the full amount I have used during that month. This was to give me piece of mind and make sure the full amount I used was paid back immediately. I opted against the minimum amount as this increases your interest rate. Today I discovered that standard bank out of the goodness of their hearts, changed my payment options to me having to make payment myself AND they put it on the minimum amount. I see now that standard bank doesn't care about their customers, but only wants to make money off of them. I am really disappointed with the service I have received since the beginning. I really feel that I should cancel all existing accounts with standard bank and move to a bank that actually cares for their customers and don't have their own hidden agenda. It makes me feel utterly useless I receive a phone call or sms saying that I am in arrears when it should have been taken off on debit order.
