FNB - How can we NOT help you?

My father passed away on 6 December and we notified his FNB financial advisor as they were the nominated executors. On 19 Dec 2013, Marius Calitz from FNB Karaglen informed my husband that FNB trust would not be acting as executors to his estate. The reason being that they were extremely short staffed and could not afford to even take on an estate with a 'cold' never mind one with 'flu' as apparently my father's estate was referred to. FNB would speak to an attorney firm and outsource the estate to them. We contacted FNB again on 20 and 29 January 2014 as we had still not heard anything. As it turns out, nothing had been done, just more empty promises to keep us informed. My father was a loyal FNB client for more than 30 years and this is how you treat his family? We are inundated with people wanting to get in touch with the executor and paperwork that needs sorting and we have no one to refer them to. Yet, FNB was quick to keep taking his money for the various investments he had with them. Shocking service from a bank that continuously asks consumers "How can we help you? ". I think not.
