I applied for a personal loan on the 13th of January 2014.
I had to contact the consultant who assisted me 3 times to get an answer regarding the application.
Once I eventually received feedback, it was in the form an e-mail stating that the application was unsuccessful due to affordability and ABSA cannot assist me.
I then queried the decision, as in my opinion, not all factors were taken into account as I have additional income that clearly reflects on my ABSA bank statement. When applying, I had all necessary documents required to prove my additional income, but I was told by the consultant that I do not need to submit it as the money is paid into my ABSA account monthly.
I was then referred to the Branch manager who gave me the same story as the consultant, just quoting the mail that I have already received.
I then followed up twice with the Branch Manager, and she said that if I'm unhappy she can refer me to the Area Manager. I had to send another email with no response back, and no phone call as of.
I am a number to ABSA, I feel they did not assist me in a professional manner and all factors were not taken into account when I applied for my loan. Still waiting.
