Having paid off my vehicle after a particularly bad payment regime brought about by my losing my job with only six months to go, I requested my NATIS document and was told that my account was with the legal department (for an outstanding R768.00) I called legal at 011 227 4690 on 14 January 2013 and was told that my account has been cleared since it was paid up. I was then transferred back to VAF. A consultant there said I could collect my NATIS at 6 Simmonds Street 3 days later. On February 4, 2013 I went to Simmonds to collect and was informed the document has not arrived. i was sent to Commissioner Street and there none could see me. I then called and was told that my account is with legal. The whole process was replayed once again.
In the end, I was told rather nicely "yes we see you paid, but we want proof of payment, we have copy of your ID but we still want it, we know your are requesting your NATIS but please fax us your request"

Thank you Standard Bank, with all that technology you really are moving yourself forward. Thank you for making me a bad customer too.
