I refer to claim: 2480638. My pool sprung a leak by the weir. I called ABSA home insurance as put in a claim. They sent out a contractor and the claim was denied because of exclusions on my policy. I phoned ABSA Home insurance and the person I spoke to said that these exclusions were added in my updated policy schedule, which I have not received. I told her that I have not received an updated policy, and that the claim was a) logged before the policy renewal date and b) in my policy schedule there are no exclusions. The consultant said that they have received complaints about this before, and in that case, they have to fix the claim. Another contractor came out, and re-quoted, now ABSA say that again, they won't fix my damaged pool. I am disgusted by the amount of dodging this insurance company is doing. I have asked numerous times for them to show me the exclusion which causes them to deny the claim, since the weir is built into the ground, this cannot be wear and tear. I would like ABSA to fix the leak in my pool and stop dodging their responsibility.
