2 months on a claim and still no feedback

What ever happened to basic feedback and communication?

My house was affected by a hailstorm and multiple building features were damaged. Last year the same thing happened to a large part of JHB and the claim took a long time to resolve. To speed up things I sourced contractors and did the majority of essential repairs like broken windows myself.

Now, roughly 2 months later I have not received ONE email, SMS or phone call?!?! I called the contractors and was told it seems I will be paid a settlement, AWESOME! How about letting me, the client know?

I have sent multiple emails and called multiple times to try find out what is happening and nothing... Today I finally get through to some kind of human operated messaging centre because the call centre is overloaded? I do understand there are a lot of claims but just keep clients in the loop.

Its been so long since my original claim that there is more rain damage as the roof STILL has not been repaired! So are you gonna send someone to re-evaluate and start this ridiculous process again?!?!!

I was also enlightened to a stupid low settlement amount by the contractor to top it off..
